:: Mission and Vision
Community Center “Resting Place Church” was created in order to provide Spiritual, Physical and Material rest to our community in need.
We are a single team of ordinary men and women directed by our Powerful GOD. Ready to serve, utilizing the necessary tools to build a better community, a good society, and finally a better country.
We offer Spiritual help over all things, then intellectual help, such as teaching English, computer, legal orientation, and medical orientation. We also offer food to take home and food to eat locally.
:: "Resting Place" Church History in the U.S.
While serving as a deacon in the Evangelic Church “Camino de Santidad” in the city of San Fernando, CA., one night during a service God used the preacher to prophesize his future plan with my life and with his Bilingual Church “Resting Place” or Iglesia “El Descanso” in Spanish. During many stays in a ranch in the city of California City, C.A., God was revealing the complete structure of this church.
Through some brothers of Guatemala, God prophesized to me when I would leave the church in San Fernando. On the 21st of June, 2003 I handed in my renunciation letter of all my responsibilities in the church. We began sending letters to certain churches in the San Fernando Valley with the intention of sharing a church building. But receiving no response, and working full time in Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, I felt the need to work part time in order to have more time for the initiation of this church.
Thanks to God, on the 26th of August 2004, “Resting Place Church” was open in the patio of our house 10920 Strathern St. Sun Valley, CA. Later the church moved to 8122 Sunland Blvd. Sun Valley, sharing the building with the Christian Church “Sinai” from January to September 2005. From October 2005 to the present-day, the church is located in 11625 Sherman Way North Hollywood, CA 91605, sharing the building with “Estanque Siloe” Church. The days of services have been modified in the three places previously mentioned. Since August 2004, we have been affiliated with “Victory New Testament Fellowship International” organization, which is located in Texas, U.S.
Also there two churches that are affiliated with us: “Emmanuel Mision El Descanso” in Poza de Agua, Santa Rosa, Guatemala and “El Descanso” Church in Managua, Nicaragua. Also we share donations with other organizations that help our community. We are praying to our omnipotent God for a large and powerful building in order to complete the vision that he gave us.
“Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you Rest”
Matthew 11:28
